MISSION
"We empower youth to make positive and
successful life choices through opportunities and guidance."
Every month, we provide hundreds of youth visitors in West Niagara access to free supervised programs, food, reliable support, priority access to crisis intervention resources across the Niagara Region and a place they can call their own!
Our Free Services
The FORT provides daily life skills, homework help, and recreational programs for youth between the ages of 11 and 18 with the purpose of removing financial and access barriers, providing youth with the resources and support they need to succeed.
DAILY
PROGRAMMING
This is a great place to tell your story and give people more insight into who you are, what you do, and why it’s all about you.
ACTIVITIES
RECREATIONAL
It's always a good time for youth to swing by! Our daily programming encompasses lots of fun activities to keep youth entertained, busy and excited. Among our three centres, we have pool tables, an air hockey table, computers and video games, art supplies and more. We also go on free field trips and spend lots of time outside!
ASSISTANCE
JOB SEARCH
The FORT teaches our youth during every step of their professional development, job search and career prep processes. We connect our youth with FORT-exclusive volunteer opportunities such as cooking for the Salvation Army or helping with Special Olympics, resume building, conduct mock interviews and teach youth how to present themselves professionally!
& INTERVENTION
CRISIS SUPPORT
The FORT is dedicated to working internally as well as connecting with other organizations in times of crisis to make sure all youth get access to exactly the support they need. Our staff are trained to help youth seeking support or guidance, each of our centres are equipped with important resources such as homelessness assistance and emergency food/clothing, and we are able to offer free, priority access to professional counselling.
